Dan’s Camera City, the long-standing mid-Pennsylvania camera retailer, has changed hands, according to a post on the website. Dan’s Camera City will be owned by Craig Kufta and Desmond Rio, who have built CameraMall into a vibrant regional chain. Kufta is a second-generation camera store owner who, in 2015, partnered with Rio to co-found CameraMall while he was attending the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Together, they grew the business from a small startup into a successful independent camera retailer and have since expanded to operate CameraMall and Woodward Camera in Michigan, as well as Art’s Cameras Plus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The store was started in 1977 by Dan Poresky, who retired in 2003. The business was purchased by Kevin Harada and Mike Woodland, who expanded the business dramatically into new markets like commercial signage and school photography.
